Produced by VICE and acclaimed at the Sundance Film Festival (Dramatic Directing Award 2014), the stylish and innovative Fishing Without Nets, directed by Cutter Hodierne, brings us into the world of Somali piracy. The first-time American director has managed to make both a powerful thriller, holding our attention from beginning to end, and a remarkable auteur film. Shot mainly in East Africa with non-professional actors, Fishing Without Nets follows the perspective of the Somali, with Abdi’s character, a young fisherman who willingly joins the pirates. Opposite him, a French sailor held hostage, brilliantly portrayed by French actor Reda Kateb (A Prophet, Zero Dark Thirty, Me Myself and Mum...).

Reda Kateb will also give a Masterclass on Friday, February 27th at the Théâtre Pitoëff, 4:30pm.
