En bref
Lausanne. In a council estate, some kids decide to write a film with the help of a social worker. They embark on a journey that will take them all the way to Cannes and its Film Festival. Filmed with urgency, Tapis rouge widens the field of possibilities for Swiss cinema.
Synopsis
Produced thanks to a crowdfunding platform, with the support of the Boveresses Leisure Centre and the City of Lausanne, in the framework of the education campaign “Moi et les Autres” (Me and Others), Tapis rouge is Frédéric Baillif’s first fiction feature film. Co-written by Kantarama Gahigiri and Frédéric Landenberg, based on the personal history of the protagonists, the film was put together during improvisation workshops. This road movie, refreshing and risky, brings together an enthusiastic social worker and a group of very insolent boys, at times fragile, whose dream it is to make a film…. This is the story of their dream.
